AJ Tasley Parr is a freelance dancer living in New York City. She is a San Francisco, Bay Area native, and was raised in her mother's dance studio, Roco Dance, where she received her early training starting at the age of 3. AJ has an extensive background in modern dance and release technique training that she received from Tisch graduate, Annie Rosenthal Parr. AJ is a graduate of The Boston Conservatory where she received her BFA in dance performance. During her undergraduate years, she was selected to perform in the works of Doug Varone, Colleen Thomas, Robert Moses, Robert Battle and Adam Barruch. Since moving to New York she has been honored to do projects with David Dorfman, Larry Keigwin, Raja Feather Kelly and Jaclyn Walsh, Baye & Asa, Nicole von Arx, Marla Phelan, and Schoen Movement Company. She has been featured in the music videos of Jukebox the Ghost, Darius Christian, Lushwork, Damn Jackals, and Woman from the Moon and has performed with pop-artists Kimbra and MIKA. She has also performed in the works of Ohad Naharin, Kate Weare, and Peter Chu. AJ was also selected to participate in Springboard Danse Montreal in 2016 and 2017. While at Springboard, she met Montreal based company, LA TRESSE collective, and later returned to perform with the company.

In addition to dance, AJ is a Licensed Master Social Worker and a graduate of New York University. She is dedicated to being a support system to people who are struggling and strives to be someone that people feel comfortable going to for guidance. As a person who has been through many of her own hurdles, she believes she can use her own life experiences to help better the lives of others.
